HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENT (HSE)

Our commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is a fundamental aspect of our operations at AL LUL TRANSPORT & GENERAL CONTRACTING. We strive to operate in a manner that prioritizes the health and safety of our workers and the protection of the environment. Our HSE plan supports the company’s long-term growth and reputation as a responsible entity in the Emirate, adhering to all HSE mandates in the construction industry. By adhering to these comprehensive HSE policies and practices, we ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of our operations.

HSE POLICY

We are dedicated to meeting global, national, and local regulations that protect the environment and human health and safety. Our HSE standards are robust and technically sound, ensuring the protection of our workers and the environment. Regular audits verify compliance with these regulations and company standards. Our HSE management systems identify and manage risks, obligations, and opportunities effectively.

Key actions include:

  • Establishing specific HSE metrics to measure and report on our performance.
  • Integrating HSE considerations into our business decision-making process.
  • Preventing accidents and injuries, promoting energy and water conservation, encouraging reuse and recycling, and reducing waste and emissions.
  • Sharing HSE best practices across the company.
  • Monitoring emerging issues and staying updated on regulatorychanges and technological innovations.
  • Developing effective and sustainable solutions to HSE challenges.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND ASSESSMENT

Risk management is a process aimed at balancing opportunities for gains and minimizing vulnerabilities and losses. This health and safety plan contains a general risk assessment for all activities expected during project planning, considering the project location, soil nature, groundwater table levels, and logistical limitations. The risk assessment, based on method statements produced by the construction team, will be communicated and approved before distribution and kept available on-site at all times.

AL LUL management ensures that risk assessments are prepared for all critical activities and submitted to the client for approval. The HSE officer ensures no critical activity takes place without an approved risk assessment and method statement, monitoring these activities until completion.

WASTE MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH PHILOSOPHY

Our waste management activities minimize environmental impact and comply with Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency standards. Waste is segregated and disposed of through approved means, ensuring appropriate treatment before disposal. We aim to meet all client waste management requirements, focusing on protecting the environment through proper waste handling and sanitation systems.

We are committed to the health and well-being of all personnel working on our projects. Regular health talks and tips are provided, and health records are maintained to address any health issues efficiently. Our HSE department promotes a healthy workforce, essential for achieving the best results for the company.

SITE SECURITY

To ensure the safety and security of all personnel, plants, vehicles, and equipment, AL LUL management provides necessary security clearance for access to designated work sites. Site offices and labor camps, including fabrication areas, are enclosed with a 2-meter high fence. A watchman is assigned 24 hours to maintain site security. All visitors report to the security guard at the main gate and are provided with PPE and an escort by an AL LUL engineer. Visitors are not permitted in high-risk areas to avoid accidents. The work zone will have controlled entry points, and surveillance systems may be installed for full security.

LEGAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

We comply with applicable legal and other EHS requirements related to our hazards during project execution. This includes adherence to local and federal laws, regulatory instruments, and guidelines governing health, safety, and environmental practices in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
